The Office of Congressman Vernon Ehlers (R - Michigan 3rd District) is reporting today that the FTA will approve the proposed BRT line through the South side.
According to the FTA, the project meets the requirements for new starts and is now able to compete for federal dollars. The estimated $36.67 million project is Michigan's first corridor approved for new starts. The 10 mile route will serve commuters as an "express" option with signal priority, low floor vehicles, substations, and bus only lanes during peak ridership.
