According to the National Corridors Initiative (NCI), the Bush Administration is making a disappearing act of a recommendation by the Surface Transportation Commission. The section of the recommendation was authored by Commissioner Paul Weyrich who is founder of The Heritage Foundation. In it he advices light rail to "play a significantly larger role in Americans’ mobility." This recommendation was adopted by the Commission 9 to 3.
The NCI is charging the Bush Administration of deleting Mr. Werich's section of the report. If true, the Bush Administration, according to NCI is in contempt of Congress.
